Biography

I was born in Ottawa, Canada. I graduated from St. Matthew Catholic High School, in Ottawa, at the top of my class. I have recently completed first year of chemical engineering at University of Toronto (currently at the top of my class). I plan on pursuing a dual degree (MD and PhD), specializing in biomedical engineering. In the summer of 2004 I worked under Professor Steve Mann and the Existential Technologies Research Center (ETRC).

Research Interests

My summer work consisted of acting as Project Manager for the design and construction of the ETRC's hyrid, wind/solar panel system. While overseeing a team consisting of engineers and architects (4th yr/graduates), I was also responsible for managing deals with several corporate companies, allowing all of our hardware (valued at $50,000) to be donated to the ETRC free of charge. I also participated in the actual design and construction of the hybrid system. In mid-July, having completed the system in under one month, we held a conference showcasing our system (attended by municipal leaders and policy-makers).
