Hope that's okay, David. Speech recognition on the Zaurus hasn't been done yet, I don't think. There was interest in porting CMU's Sphinx system to it, but I don't think it ever actually got done, and it may have required rewriting portions to be use integer math only. MIT's Galaxy system (used in the DARPA Communicator now) works on an iPaq Linux distribution, but I don't think it does the processing on the device; I think it feeds it off to a server elsewhere. List members? CVoiceControl might be do-able, although it's no longer supported by its developer. It's designed just for command and control. I'm not familiar with other offerings, like ISIP (HTK is no good for license-free commercialization), so I don't know how complete they are. I'm also paying for a custom phoneme recognition system to be developed, but it's being designed for preprocessing data, and I don't know what the requirements will be for real-time use once its been trained. If anyone knows better about voice recognition on a StrongARM iPaq/Zaurus/etc.-style platform, please chime in. FLite is Festival Lite, which is a lightweight version of the Festival text-to-speech system, designed to run on handhelds and the like. The Zaurus has a built-in keyboard, and there have been bits of effort in building a hardware interface and porting the iPaq Stowaway keyboard driver, but I don't think it's come to fruition yet. Porting another serial keyboard driver might be easier, since you wouldn't have to build a hardware thingus.
