If you think you can run an ongoing business making and selling such devices for less, then you're free to give it a try. The per unit profit on the terminal may be more than on the car (keeping in mind some small cars are sold at a loss to meet govt. fuel efficiency standards). But far fewer such terminals are sold than such cars.
