speaking of usb [I hope I didn't first see this on this list! :)] http://www.ratocsystems.com/english/products/subpages/cfu1u.html but that leaves you without network (most likely) for most devices. I doubt I'd count on my pda to power a keyboard and nic and a usb hub off that in just 100mA - but if you have all that stuff you could easily have bricks for some of it I suppose. the 5500 price is generally in the $250 range, as the sl5600 has hit the block for $400 w/ a 400mhz processor, 32mb ram, and 64mb flash [other specs same, but much better battery life afaik] is the "SuperFoobar++", as I expect, the proposed device? If so, it had at least 640x480 screen [as opposed to 320x240] - the nexio has 800x480. That right there could very well be worth the extra money to some people. [thats why I'm anxiously awaiting my imported zaurus sl-c700, which is same specs as the 5600 but with the screen, totally different (but basically same size) form factor w/ better keyboard, and each bit of space taken up by a bigger screen or better keyboard is SUCKED right out of the battery capacity ;) -Martin N. P.S. i was going to correct you on your listing about bluetooth, but your wording corrected it anyway. good summary all in all.
