Sure you can do that. Taking that idea a step further I have considered using a PDA as only a GUI, by blowing away the palm stuff and writing C code to make a GUI environment. This way you could use the touch screen, and have apps that run on the wearable use the PDA for its GUI layer. If you compare the price of the low end palm with displays and touch screens, it is cheaper. However, I still like the idea of obsoleting PDAs and all other devices (cell phones etc) and converging everything into a wearable. Also, I like the idea of embedding the displays into clothing and fashionable accessories. Jeremy's questions on text LCD and keyboard (as terminal) got me motivated to continue my project on this. I am right now working on some microcontroller code for one of the Scott Edwards text/graphics LCDs and the Cirque pocket keyboard. Actually I have the code for both of these working already, I just need to do a few tweaks. It is only 4 lines 20 characters, so it won't make a very good terminal, but I want to try the getty login with this. After I get it working I might look for a larger display. I'm thinking about putting this one in another sleeve configuration in a coat. - Doug -- Subscription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with subject of "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" toWear-Hard Mailing List Archive (searchable): http://wearables.blu.org Please, *PLEASE* don't subscribe through a forward/expander/false domain
