Re: LINUX install help, please

I have had to deal with this situation innumerable times. Probably the
easiest and best solution I have come up with is to simply copy over a
pre-made Linux installation that works. I personally recommend downloading
ZipSlack <http://www.slackware.com>, copying over the entire install and
just booting up. It will even run off of FAT32 if done correctly. If I
remember correctly, the ZipSlack FAQs even have directions as to how to
copy it to a hard drive and use it. You could probably use other similar
versions of Linux such as Knoppix, etc., for this purpose.

Another possible solution, which is somewhat more painful, is to create
several partitions on the hard drive, copy over the Linux installation
files onto one of the partitions, and make that partition bootable.
Unfortunately, I don't have detailed instructions as to how to do this,
though I'm sure you can find such a page easily through Google.
