I was looking for a solid state drive to replace a disk in a machine I have,
and found this neat lil bugger

plug this dimm card into a ram slot and boot from it! I didnt know this was
possible, but it seems really useful.
imagine if you had an IDE flash disk too, oh theres another dimm card that
lets you locks the disk or areas of it, Im not sure, so that it cant be
copied or viewed... nice if you want to store your PGP keys I guess

the site mentions a OTP or One Time Programming rom-like area, so you burn
data on it once, like a rom ofcourse

from what I can tell Advantech doesnt sell much of the products from
M-Systems anymore, so if you know somewhere else I can check on a price that
would be great
by the way, if anyone knows of any other company that sells or makes small
solid state flash disks I can use in PCMCIA,CARDBUS,IDE/ATA,microPCI,LPC or
SCSI even, that information would be deeply appreciated

http://www.m-sys.com/content/products/product.asp?PID=18&FILE=DocDimmPlus&
FAM=doc

one last thing, has anyone else used a "TrueFFS" (True Fast Flash
something...) and has any advice on the matter? is a solid state disk really
that great?

thankyou
