--part1_16a.1bb449d9.2b9cf80e_boundary Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit heh, oh no I would'nt go that far, just simply removing the LCD portion of the system, although, LCD screens, and the half of the shell that would be removed do not represent alot of weight, so its probably not going to be such a large problem in regards to the proven concept of portable + HMD + Twiddler(or Twiddler 2) like so many members of the list have tried, I was wondering, are there any known PDAs with a CPU clock at or higher than 100mhz that allow installing a secondary OS on the flash rom that holds the OS, unless you use a Zaurus which already has a fairly suitable linux distrobution I have a Casio E100 and like the E110 and E115, it does not allow reflashing a new OS to ROM, but that's ok I guess because all the BSD and linux kernels Ive seen that are for the E1** load from CF card, which is bad because then, what bus does the HMD use? after that you have a infrared port and a serial port (which needs an adapter) so if you need networking you have to figure out how to share the Compact Flash bus with two devices, once thats acomplished all is well really, all I would have to fulfill is storage, HMD, input device, and networking the serial would probably go to the input device, but theres hardly any room for the others this why I almost always favor an embedded board over a PDA untill PDAs start coming with PS2 connections a board like a laptop or 3.5" embedded PC is probably easier to use In a message dated 3/8/03 9:03:09 AM Central Standard Time,writes: > I'm not sure why you'd want to butcher the subnotebook, though. > Putting the MB/parts into a different enclosure takes time which > could be used using the wearable than building it.
